Why is this critical now?
In December of 2023 Mamo Alejandro answered the question, “What’s your vision for the future?” He said, “Human extinction is imminent in 10-15 years.” (paraphrased and translated from his language)
Hearing the Call…
"Connect yourself to nature but remember it's not enough. You must spread the word." Said Mamo Alejandro in 2018 as we stood at an outcropping of stones abutting the turquoise waves where the mouth of a sacred river entered the sea. He also said, “In a year and a half the entire world will experience something that will affect everyone like nothing we’ve seen before.” And then there was a pandemic.
The Kogi are descendants of the Tairona people, whose land was seized by the Spanish Conquistadors. The Tairona and Kogi fled by moving up to the higher peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. For thousands of years they have maintained their ancient connection to the cosmos and earth consciousness and now in this time of great chaos we are living in, they are reaching out and asking for us to work with them, to remember, and to change the ways that are causing an environmental crisis - a spiritual crisis - resulting in imbalances to all of Mother Earth’s ecosystems.
Juan, Mamo Alejandro’s son and liaison for many Kogi communities, was clear in 2018, "It's game over in 2025 unless we can return to our lands and sacred sites to make payments (tributes/offerings) to Mother Earth, plus have our sacred artifacts returned."

Why Dream Change Works With The Kogi:
The Kogi People are a unique Indigenous group who fled from colonialism and the voracious attempts of conquest.
Until this day many of them remain in the high altitude of the 18,000 foot Sierra Nevada mountain range choosing to live in their traditional ways. Yet their environment is harsh and its changing as a result of their 'younger siblings' ways.
The Kogi consider us in the modern world their 'younger siblings' because our culture (and planetary consciousness) is young compared to theirs. They've been journeying in the same traditional ways, maintaining their cosmological wisdoms, for thousands of years.
This is why Dream Change is building a strong relationship with the Kogi. We know they are our teachers.
Our elder siblings have called upon us to help spread the word of how we can evolve through this time of disruption and chaos.
How buying land back (repatriation) for the Kogi People will help reverse the climate crisis?
Our climate crisis is a spiritual crisis. Indigenous groups like the Kogi, who live in harmony with nature, restore harmony to the land they steward, work with sacred sites to feed reciprocity to the Earth and the Cosmos, are teachers for us “siblings.”
