Vincent Santo Ferrau
VINCENT SANTO FERRAU is Dream Change's Youth Programs Director and a primary facilitator of workshops and WOW! Community Programs. He is the founder of Medicine Way, a practice built upon long years of travel and exploration with indigenous shamans. Vincent's integrative offerings are rooted in the perception that in addition to effective healing, shamanism and energy approaches guide us to more satisfying ways in which to communicate and live. Vincent describes this as a “Way” because it is an alchemy that inspires transformation. The Medicine Way assists us in embodying a more holistic and intuitive consciousness that honors and embraces all life upon the planet.
Graduating from The Evergreen State College in '91 with a BA in Literature and Creative Writing, Vincent returned to NJ to revitalize a Police Athletic League under the auspices of the Juvenile Justice Commission and the Dept of Human Services. Here he transformed a former boxing gym, into a respected, ethnically diverse center for At Risk Youth. He instituted programs such as one on one counseling, job searches, poetry events, martial art practices, museum and cultural excursions including potlucks and drum circles. Vincent imparted a philosophy of wholeness and responsibility, developing body, mind and spirit to facilitate an environment of lasting hope and change. The program enjoyed enormous success and in 2001 he accepted a position with the San Cristobal Ranch Academy in New Mexico,a transitional facility for young adults with significant drug or criminal pasts. Further refining his theory and approach, he served as a recreational and spiritual counselor before becoming a Program Director, helping ranch members reintegrate back into society. During his tenure Vincent enjoyed a 100% success rate in the rehabilitation of ranch members into viable and self supporting members of the larger community.
Vincent has worked extensively with both the youngest and eldest members of our society. He created “Kids Yogic Arts”, a blend of yoga, martial arts, meditation, shamanism, and fun. He also teaches the Art of Qi Gong, and the Philosophy of Joy and Remembrance, at several Northern New Jersey senior and community centers.
Vincent was a special student to the late Taoist Master Y.P Dong, and studied extensively with Master Sifu James W McNeil. Vincent is certified to teach Buddhist and Taoist Qi Gong and Meditation, Chen Tai Chi, and Traditional Chinese Acupressure and Massage. He is also an ordained Interfaith Minister and certified Reflexologist. He has trained intensively with John Perkins and Llyn Roberts in Advanced Shapeshifting and Healing certification programs, and has been a primary workshop assistant to John and Llyn since 2006. Vincent has made numerous expeditions to Siberia with Bill Pfeiffer, founder of Sacred Earth Network. Working there with Elder Danil Mamyev and other Altai Shamans, he has become a recognized and well respected member of the indigenous community. He has also collaborated and been on radio with tribal member Eileen Janis, who manages Sweetgrass Project, a suicide prevention program on the Oglala Sioux Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. In his spare time Vincent writes poetry and children's books, hangs with his dog Zuni, and is forever learning and grateful.
As Dream Change's Youth Programs Director, Vincent brings the passion and wisdom to aid young men and women in discovering their purpose. He helps them find their bliss, and facilitates the patience and skills to follow it. Vincent's philosophy is not only to teach, but to empower others to teach, instilling a desire to birth a peaceful, just, and sustainable world for all of Earth's children.
